Malted Chocolate Brownies Recipe
Description
Milkshakes aren’t the only use for malted chocolate! A small amount of malted milk powder is incorporated directly into the batter of these Malted Chocolate Brownies. In my opinion, it adds a subtly toasted, roasty flavor that gently balances the sweetness and richness of the chocolate. Essentially, it’s a brownie that combines all the best elements of a malted chocolate shake.

Instructions
Get your oven and pan ready:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
Line an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking pan with aluminum foil and spray it with nonstick spray. Set it aside.Mix dry ingredients:
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, malted milk powder, cocoa powder, and salt. Set this bowl aside for now.Melt the chocolate and butter:
Put the butter, chopped milk chocolate, and dark chocolate into a heat-safe bowl.
Place that bowl over a pot of gently simmering water (make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water). Stir now and then until everything is melted and smooth.Add sugars and eggs:
Take the bowl off the heat.
Whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well mixed.
Then whisk in the eggs and vanilla.Combine everything:
Add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture.
Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to gently stir until everything is just combined. Don’t overmix.Bake the brownies:
Pour the batter into your prepared pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the center looks just set (not jiggly).Make the chocolate ganache (frosting):
Put the chopped chocolate in a heat-safe bowl.
Heat the cream in a small pot over medium heat until it starts to gently simmer—don’t let it boil.
Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes.
Then slowly stir until the chocolate melts and everything is smooth.Cool and top the brownies:
Let the brownies cool completely.
Then spread the ganache on top. If you like, sprinkle with flaky sea salt.Store leftovers:
Cover and keep any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 4 days.

The ganache will get thicker as it cools (takes about 2 hours).
Once it’s thick and cool, you can spread it with a spatula or pipe it using a piping bag.
You can also beat it with an electric mixer until it becomes light and fluffy this takes about 4 minutes on medium-high speed.
